Dehradun– In a startling revelation from Garhi Cantt, Dehradun, a government contractor reportedly began work on the agricultural fair preparations two days before the official tender was even opened, raising serious concerns of pre-planned favoritism and corruption.

The tender was scheduled to open at 9:30 PM on June 11, but by June 9, laborers, trucks, construction materials, and even a hydra crane had already arrived at Mahindra Ground, the site for the fair. This suspicious timing has led to accusations of “digital corruption.”

The matter came to light when Bobby Panwar, President of Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha, and Tribhuwan Chauhan, the Vice President, visited the site and documented the ongoing work.

“When the tender hasn’t even opened and the contractor is already working with full equipment, it clearly suggests the tender was pre-decided,” said Bobby Panwar.

They immediately raised the issue with the Director of Agriculture, who ordered the work to be stopped. However, local police officials refused to take action, claiming the matter was outside their jurisdiction. Following the exposure, the “Agri Mitra Uttarakhand 2025” event, which was being organized at the site, was canceled.

Panwar and Chauhan have stated that this is not just a case of a minor violation but a symbol of growing systemic corruption in the state. They have committed to taking the matter to court, asserting that the misuse of public funds and undermining of due process must be held accountable.
